February 21nd. And 22rd. 2008 Fishing in the Park with friends of the park
COA will be assisting the
city of Texarkana TX with it’s annual fishing derby held at Spring Lake Park. If
you would like to volunteer please call
March 1st 2008 Shore Line clean up Lake Wright Patman
We will be assisting US Army
Corps of Engineers and the Boy Scout’s of America wit a shore line clean up at
Lake Wright Patman Lunch will be served to all scouts and others volunteer’s by
the COE
April 26th 2008 Take a special someone Fishing
COA and The
City of Texarkana AR weed and seed program will be hosting a fishing derby for
fifty special persons at Bramble Park. Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will
stock the pond with catfish and furnish the prizes at no charge so that all
will catch some fish
May 24th 2008– Take a Kid Fishing
Coa and The City
of Texarkana AR weed and seed program along with University of Arkansas will be
hosting a fishing derby for seventy five at risk youth and their parents from a
low rent housing project Arkansas Game and fish will stock the pond with catfish
at no charge so that all will catch some fish
July 4th 2008 – Family Picnic and Fireworks day-
COA will have a family
picnic to celebrate the 4th
of July. Food and Drinks will be provided by COA for approximately 100 people. A
fireworks display will be presented for the families in the evening.
December 4th - 7th
2008 – COA’s 9th Annual Challenged Outdoorsmen Deer Hunt
on Lake Wright Patman, Corp of Engineers, Clear Springs Area.
COA will be hunting with 50
challenged individuals on the Clear Springs Hunting Area. This event takes many
volunteers to help it run smoothly. COA will be providing two meals with drinks
a day for hunters and volunteers.
December 19th - 21st 2008 5th
Annual Challenged Outdoorsmen Deer Hunt at Lake of the Pines
We will be hunting with 30
challenged individuals during this hunt. Each hunter will be accompanied by a
guide for a total of 60 people. All meals and drinks will be provided by COA.
January 17th and 18th & 2009 – Youth hunt at on Lake Wright Patman, Corp of
Engineers, Clear Springs Area.
We will be hunting with 50
youth on this hunt also. Each youth will be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian.
All meals and drinks will be provided for the 50 hunters, 50 parents, and many
additional volunteers.
